About
Apollo Cup is an annual event designed, managed and organized by John Paul's Senior High School students. The first event took place in 2017 and has been held each year ever since, excluding 2020 due to Covid-19 pandemic. It features a variety of competitions comprising sports, academics and arts throughout the week. Thus, Apollo Cup provides youths the opportunity to showcase their skills and talents.
Apollo Cup adalah acara tahunan yang didesain, dikelola, dan disusun oleh siswa-siswi SMA John Paul’s School.. Acara pertama kali diadakan pada tahun 2017 dan seterusnya diselenggarakan setiap tahun, kecuali 2020 dikarenakan pandemi Covid-19. Kegiatan ini berlangsung selama satu minggu dengan berbagai kompetisi pada bidang olahraga, akademik, dan seni. Dengan ini, Apollo Cup akan berusaha dengan maksimal dengan menyediakan kesempatan untuk para peserta menunjukkan keterampilan dan talentanya.โโโโ
Our event was named after Apollo who is one of the most prominent Olympian gods in Greek mythology. Apollo is the epitome of everything; he is the god of sun and light, music and poetry, healing and plagues, prophecy and knowledge, order and beauty, archery and agriculture. With his gift of music and big ambition, he is known to have participated and won in many musical contests. Be that as it may, Apollo Cup acts as a medium for the youth to showcase their skills in arts, sports and academic knowledge as well as reaching their fullest potential. Everyone is encouraged in hopes of reflecting Apollo’s legacy.
This year’s theme, Nexilis, is derived from a Latin word for ‘interwoven’ which connotatively means success is achieved through great teamwork and bond. Following Audere est Facere as this year’s slogan is a Latin phrase that means ‘to dare is to do’ and is derived from the Latin ‘Audere’ or audacity in English, given to believe that one’s determination should be embedded with action. In short, we hope to aspire young talents of our generation to show what they are capable of in lights of the future.
